Optimist Meeting - "AWESOME Program" - May 20

Hello Friends and Optimist,

Have you heard about “AWESOME!”? Their motto is “Empowering people of all abilities through high quality outdoor experiences.” Marnie Sell and Jill Marolf will present a slide show on the program this Tuesday, May 20th, 0700 at the Pancake House. AWESOME stands for Adaptive Wilderness Sports of McCall (AWeSOMe!). The non-profit organization is a chapter of Disabled Sports USA. They had a great winter ski season with lots of returning participates and volunteers. This year their goals are to provide a summer program , increase the quality and quantity of the activities, and provide a scholarship opportunity for local kids.

Marnie Sell has just moved here for Portland. Marnie has volunteered with many different organizations and brings with her experience great energy to this established program. Jill Marolf is also involved in many different youth programs here in McCall and is our Den Leader for our Cub Scout Pack 246. Come and enjoy breakfast with us and learn about this AWESOME program.

I hope you can make it.

Optimist Meeting, Tuesday May 6

Hello Friends and Optimist,
Tuesday, May 6th, 0700 at the Pancake House: The meeting this week will focus on the details of the Senior Sober Graduation Party. I believe this year's party will be different because we have made an extra effort to reach out and advertise the party to the Graduating students, parents, and faculty. This year there are 63 Graduates and we expect more attendance to the party than previous years. With that said, it will require and deserves a little more effort on our part. The good news is, that Belinda Provancher has done an outstanding job planning and organizing the event. The biggest task at the moment is to hand out letters to the Merchants, promoting the party, and gathering gifts by the 23rd.. We have an agenda for the party to finalize, letters to distribute, and a "to do list" to review. Please join us for Tuesday breakfast and lend a hand for this important and worthwhile event. Attached is a letter that we will be distributing to all the local business. We will have copies to hand out at the meeting. If you can't make this meeting and want to help in some way, you can contact Belinda at 440-5163 or Mike Gurney at 369-3387, or Tom at 315-2714. If you know any graduating seniors or local merchants, tell them about the party!

I hope to see everyone there on Tuesday. Dave Kristner won the free breakfast drawing. Congratulatations Dave!
